Matt wasn’t always focused on a career in technology. It was while doing postgraduate work in psychology that he realized he was more passionate about the software programs he was creating for his research than the research itself. This fueled a career change, which has seen him managing software development and system architecture design for the past decade plus. Matt’s work in technology, before coming to Providigm, ranged from data mining solutions for the health care industry to encryption for secure financial information to artificial intelligence for voice recognition and robotic control systems.

When Matt was asked, in 2007, to create and lead the software development team at Providigm, he recognized the opportunity to apply the most recent advances in programming languages and development strategies to software that would help improve the quality of health care and provide a positive experience for the providers who would use it.

Although Matt takes a lot of pride in the software products Providigm has created, he is most proud of the development team he has assembled. Everyone is committed to continuously improving both the software products themselves and the way the products are created. He calls this the best team he has ever worked with. “Every member of the team is exceptional at what they do,” Matt adds. “And the friendliness and respect for one another and for the team makes being at work a pleasure.”
